Junior AuxiliaryThe Junior Auxiliary of Houma was established in 1972 and focuses on children and the local community. These women give of their time, talents, resources and love with the hopes that they may help change the lives of children in the area and make the community a better place in which to live. 2008 Denim & Diamonds Denim & Diamonds Charity by Fakier promises to be the newest and most exclusive event to hit the Houma event landscape in over a decade. This unique event offers an opportunity for one lucky ticket-holder (who need not be present) to win a beautiful, steel and 18-kt gold ROLEX watch valued at $7,150. Wearing your favorite jeans and sparkling gems, attendees will sample delicious hors d’oeuvre, sip champagne and listen to live music. Each ticket-holder will have the opportunity to bid on some of the finest goods and services in the silent auction. Tickets are limited and are expected to go quickly. Ticket cost is $150.oo for a ticket that admits up to 2 people. Tickets can be purchased by calling (985) 873-9399. All proceeds from the event go to help Junior Auxiliary of Houma fund its service projects and all other charitable works. Over the past 35 years, JA has donated thousands of volunteer service hours and more than $1.5 million to worthy causes. Over these years, JA and its members in Houma have been dedicated to assisting needy children and families in Terrebonne parish.
